HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

I saw my Mom the day before my birthday, got some of the most beautiful Dahlia flowers in celebration. We enjoyed some time and then she graciously watched Stella while I got my hair done and Ron was at work. Wonderful way to start off my birthday weekend. It is a special tradition where my Mom has brought be Dahlias from a cool farm near their home. They come in the most amazing color combinations and texture. Now I wish I would have taken pics of them - next year!

Birthday party was on the 27th, my actual birthday. It was a relaxing day filled with birthday cards, phone calls from family and friends and lots of love and laughter at my birthday dinner where we were treated to a dance from a fun belly dancer. Stella especially seemed mesmerized by the dancing and Ron loved the Moroccan food where no utensils were given and instead of napkins, they bring towels - no joke. You get a 4 course meal plus an eggplant salad which is ground to the texture of humus and an amazing appetizer which is a meat and filo dough dish made to look like a giant meat pie with powdered sugar on top. In between meals they wash your hands with warm rose water. I liked hanging out with my dear friends and sharing this local adventure.
