Wednesday, 2/2/11 - Happy GroundHOG Day!

Stella and mine first day alone as Ron went back to work. She is sleeping wonderfully in the evening 6-7 hours a night with one feeding in between. We couldn't ask for anything more! I needed some free hands during the day and I feel more madly for my baby wrap! Stella really seems to like it as it keeps her close to me and she loves to be cuddled and held. I put on a lil Amos Lee and did chores around the house and Stella relaxed into sleep. I think it is cool how her neck can be held by the wrap but also allow her head to be slightly tilted backwards so she can look at me. Our little girl LOVES to keep her arms crossed and sleep on my chest. Ron says she likes being wedged in between the Mountains of Milk. He might be right! The picture below show you Stella's dimples!!!!!!!!!!

It pays to have your momma come stay with you a week - she gets to see all the needs and/or improvements in your home that you put on your "Some day" list. My mom is no exception and she surprised Ron and I with a new set of Teflon pans when she came back on Saturday to stay the night before catching an early flight out to Syracuse, NY for her brother's funeral.  (Where is now stuck due to largest NE storm of the decade!) THANK YOU MOM - used pan today to make cabbage and ham. Yummy to my tummy :)

Holly and Alijah (A.K.A. Stella's future babysitter) blessed us with some company and delicious Thai food which was profoundly appreciated as I felt like the time went by so fast during the day, I barely had time for a PB&J sandwich and shower let alone make dinner. I know I'll get better at the time management thang but in the meantime we enjoyed company.

I don't want to sign off today without mentioning that I finally conquered a small post-pregnancy fear PRE-PREGNANCY JEANS! I had been putting off trying them on and had been living in some comfy sweats/pants but today I slipped on a larger pair of jeans which I used to wear and they BUTTONED! I think I'll try to slip onto the scale at Stella's 2 wk appt this Friday just to see where I'm at. I swear, if I could loose a lb for every hour of breastfeeding, I'll be a skinny minny.

Ron raced home to be with his baby girl and is spending the night holding Stella on his chest. He told me these are the moments he dreamt of :)
