Day 5: 1/25/11, Tuesday

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Special photo session of Stella with her 1st hair bow on which my Grandma Addie got her.
  • Got excited as my milk came in and astonished by the size of the "milk carriers"! haha
  • I ran to Freddy's for some milk and was told "girl, you look great too" by a passerby on street. Watch out Mister, I still got it after pushing a 7.2 baby out 4 days ago! Nice ego boost.
  • Neighbors Kate, Jackson & 2 boys came over for a visit, bringing cute outfit and books for Stella. And in return, Stella gave Kate her 1st BLOW OUT! Resulting in Ron scrubbing carpet and me apologizing. Thank goodness Kate took it all in stride and also let us borrow some flour :)
  • Ron and my mom pruned the heck out of the yard and got some fresh air while they bonded. Their hard work looks great and new spring flowers popping up in yard are noticed. It will be fun to introduce Stella to the outdoors as weather improves.
  • Received a lovely delivery from my colleagues at work of a plant and special picture frame gifts. So very thoughtful and sweet.
Ron was suppose to go back to work today but just couldn't bring himself to "leave his family" as he told his boss. That "we needed him" which was very true but he also needed us. He's very serious about being the best Dad he can be and realizes he has much to learn. I told him that although that may be true, Stella knows nothing else but our love and that to her, he already is perfect! Ron's dedication to our daughter is powerful ...I knew it would be as his love knows no bounds but WOW is all I can say!

Mom cooked a wonderful turkey (faux Thanksgiving dinner) and we enjoyed sitting down to a family meal. We're so lucky to have my mom hear but as you can imaging there are 3 adults who are 100% focused on baby Stella and feet and feelings can be stepped on easily. Pretty emotional day for everyone but at the end of the evening Ron and I dried our tears and held hands with Stella as we astonishing looked at the beautiful daughter we created. Our hearts are warmed with the love of my mother who is unsure of what her day to day role is here in this new environment but she is not afraid nor too proud in all she does.
