3.25.11 ---Date Night!!!!!!

(L) Stella and Audrey (R)
Stella decided to get into a staring contest with a lil friend, Audrey during Mom Group today. It went on for seriously over 10 minutes. It was so cute someone took a picture of it. P.S. Stella won :)  Second half of class a lady from local infant music class came in and taught us some songs and stress how important music is in to our babies. Not just having it on in the background but actually singing and playing musical instruments to your darlings. Stella loves my singing - I question her taste as anyone who has heard me karaoke knows I cannot carry a note but I sure can make Old MacDonald sound like it is the bomb song to my baby girl :)
Gammy Nancy came to stay and have her bi-weekly Stella visit with us tonight so Ron and I took advantage and planned a date night. We hit up the new restaurant, Lincoln. Not only could Ron not read the menu because the lighting was so low and he "forgot" his glasses that he doesn't like to admit he has to wear but then I was kinda turned off by all the items/words on the menu I didn't know what the heck they were. But, thank goodness a kind lady sitting next to us highly recommended her buckwheat fettuccine with beef and the steak with herb butter called my name. Ron got a 3 course meal with a lovely arugula/citrus salad and what was best was the pistachio chips in the salad. I plan on bringing those nuts into my salads in the future. Crazy but true, buckwheat pasta was some of the best I've ever, ever, fluffy and light I've had. Ron then had a sweet merangue with candied fig and whipped cream concoction for dessert and I savored a Penna cotta (sp? - flan like) dish that although no bigger than a silver dollar.
Ron getting ready to get it handed to him in air hockey.

The molasses sauce was heaven. Just the right finish to an amazing steak and sesame fried onion rings. We then headed to a local joint to play ping pong. Yup - you heard it folks ...ping pong. Ron and his brother used to play lots when they were younger so he spanked me in 2 out of 3 games. I then returned the favor in a air hockey game! Fun times and very little worrying about baby Stella with Granny. She left very well and I timed it to feed her when I got home.

Stella wore her cute Winnie The Pooh outfit from Uncle Donnie. I wasn't sure if he really bought the outfit before I gave  him props but he swears he did :)
